England's newest royal couple will appear at a hiring fair for veterans and their spouses July 10 at Sony Pictures Studio in Los Angeles. The newlyweds will also join a service project to create 1,000 care packages for military children, in partnership with Blue Star Families and the USO.
The Foundation of Prince William and Prince Harry is the princes' primary charitable vehicle, with a core aim of raising awareness and support for service members.
The hiring fair is sponsored by the U.S. and Los Angeles Area chambers of commerce. The Labor Department's Veterans' Employment and Training Service, the Defense Department's Military Spouse Employment Partnership, and Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve are among the other participating organizations.
The Society of Human Resource Management is recruiting employers to participate in the job fair. About 200 employers and 1,500 veterans and spouses are expected to attend. Employers participating in the job fair must have job openings available and will be expected to report to the U.S. Chamber of Commerce on how many applications they received, the number of veterans and military spouses who were offered jobs, and how many were hired by the company.
