Kitchen Tune-Up, a home remodeling franchisor, is giving away franchise packages worth $40,000 to 10 honorably discharged veterans. The offer began June 2 and will continue until all 10 are awarded.

“As a business owner and associate, I feel we need to do our part in showing appreciation,” said Kitchen Tune-Up’s founder and president, Dave Haglund. “We have had many military veterans involved in our franchises that have been successful. Their service background has given them the leadership, work ethic, and teamwork qualities that are necessary in running a successful Kitchen Tune-Up business.”

Each package includes the franchise fee, exclusive territory, training and the start-up package. Veterans’ expenses, including advertising, insurance and travel to training, will likely range from $10,000 to $20,000, said Craig Green, the company’s director of franchise development. To be considered, vets must have a credit score of at least 700.

One franchise will be awarded in each of these territories: Savannah, Ga; Mobile, Ala.; Biloxi, Miss.; Baton Rouge, La.; Kansas City, Mo.; Memphis, Tenn.; Tallahassee, Fla.; Omaha, Neb.; Tulsa, Okla.; and San Antonio.
